Fun for all ages and skill levels!
All of our lessons start as private one on one lessons, with the goal of being able to join into group lessons and horseshows once you become more experienced. Lessons are 30 minutes of ride time, with additional grooming time before and after your lesson. We highly encourage all of our riders to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled riding time. This should allow sufficient time for you to groom and tack up your lesson horse and be ready to ride at your scheduled lesson time.
We have a variety of proven lesson horses for our riders as well as other options for our intermediate and advanced riders looking to challenge themselves in an exciting way while learning and polishing up on their riding skills.
For the health and well-being of our hardworking school horses, we do have a weight limit of 200 pounds or less for all riders.

What should you wear for your lesson?
If you're a new rider, you can come to your first lesson wearing long pants and a hard soled shoe. Once you decide to take more riding lessons, we require proper riding gear as soon as possible. This is for your safety as well as comfort while riding.
**You will NOT be allowed to ride in “blingy” jeans or pants with buttons on the back pockets. This will damage our saddles.**
What is proper riding gear?
Riding is like any other sport and it requires proper gear for safety and comfort.
Riding Helmet : Required for all riders under the age of 18 and we recommend riding helmets for adults too. Proper horseback riding helmets are required, not a bicycle helmet. Ovation makes a great reasonably priced riding helmet.

Riding Pants: Your pants should have suede or ultra suede knee patches for comfort and grip while in the saddle. We do not recommend riding in jeans because the seam lies right where your leg lays on the saddle, which can cause discomfort and rubbing. Our favorite brands of riding jodhpurs (with tie downs) are American Jods, Kerrits, Alympic Equestrian or Piper.
Gloves: Gloves help create better grip on the reins and they keep your hands warm in the winter months. Leather riding gloves are the best, such as SSG or Heritage.
Riding Boots: These are probably the most important piece of safety gear when working around horses. We recommend paddock style leather riding boots, pull on, lace up or zip up are fine.

Hair: All hair must be pulled back into a braid or a low pony tail during all riding lessons.
